Vermischtes zur Situation in Palästina und Israel

1.) On the so-called “Jewish question”, the nature of Zionism and the State of Israel auf La Bataille Socialiste:

„Most Near and Middle East States owe their existence to the maneuvers of the rival imperialist powers (France, Great Britain, United States) which have divided this region and continue to play one state against another for economic (oil, markets, etc.) and / or strategic reasons. In this sense, Israel is not a more vicious “imperialist puppet” than Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Lebanon or Egypt – or even Iran or Syria. We can not systematically denounce one of these “puppets” (Israel) without ruthlessly exposing the others. Yet it’s what, in fact, the Far Left, the anti-imperialists, the antizionists do most of the time. At the end of the day these political currents choose to support some states against other states just because they use a nationalist or pseudo-anti-imperialist rhethoric. Acting so, they disarm and disempower the Israeli, Arab, Turkish, Kurdish and Iranian proletarians in front of their own bourgeoisie.“

„The justification for all the wars is always the same: the Arabs. They are to blame for what Israel does and has done. But all the military campaigns, as well as the agreements that follow, carry the same pathogenic germ: Israel’s insistence on preserving its superiority relative to its neighbors and, in particular, its persistent refusal to yield up the lands it conquered in 1967. In the present war, Israel has pushed its Egyptian partner into an awkward corner. Egypt knows that Israel could have prevented the war in Gaza. Israel could have withdrawn by agreement in 2005, instead of disengaging unilaterally. It could have done this as a step toward a comprehensive agreement, in the framework of which it would have dismantled all the settlements and reached peace with the PA. But Israel did the opposite. It pulled unilaterally out of Gaza and handed it to Hamas on a platter of fire. Today, in the West Bank, it refuses to dismantle even the outposts that it dubs illegal. It is far from ready to commit itself on a complete withdrawal from the Occupied Territories.“

3.) Querfront sucks! Gegen Krieg und Islamismus! von Cosmoproletarian Solidarity:

„Vor allem jedoch sollten diejenigen, die das Wesen sozialistisch-progressiver Politik nicht zu verscherbeln bereit sind, wissen, was nicht zu tun ist.

Etwa auf eine Demonstration zu gehen, die wie am gestrigen Freitag in Hamburg von der Schura, dem „Rat der Islamischen Gemeinschaften in Hamburg e.V.“ organisiert worden ist. Die Schura wird vom „Islamischen Zentrum Hamburg“ und dem „Bündnis der Islamischen Gemeinden in Norddeutschland e.V.“ kontrolliert. Letztere gehört dem „Islamrat für die Bundesrepublik Deutschland e.V.“ an, der weitgehend Milli Görüş untersteht. Deren Übervater Necmettin Erbakan bezeichnete am 1. Juli 2007 „Zionisten“ als „Bakterien“ und stellte den Islam als einzige Kraft gegen diese „Krankheit“ dar, „ein Konflikt zwischen dem Guten und dem Bösen“. „Die Juden“, Erbakan folgend, haben auch die Kreuzzüge zu verantworten und da diese durch „unsere Vorväter, die Seldschuken waren, aufgehalten“ worden sind, darf es – ginge es nach „den Juden“ und ihre „Kabbala“ – „keinen souveränen Staat in Anatolien geben“ (z.n. Karl Pfeifer). So vermengt man rassistischen Antijudaismus mit türkisch-nationalistischer Mythenbildung. In der Agitprop-Zeitung von Milli Görüş, die „Milli Gazete“, wurde bereits die Wesensgleichheit zwischen den Juden und dem Satan behauptet. („Milli Gazete“, 31.01.1994). Wie können sich Kommunisten in eine Demonstration solcher Rassisten und Mordssympathisanten einreihen? Sind die Brandopfer von Sivas vergessen? Deren Mörder worden durch Erbakan, dem späteren Justizminister Sevket Kazan und Sivas-Vorsteher Temel Karamollaoğlu, die nun alle in der “Saadet Partisi” der Milli Görüş-Bewegung agieren, aufgestachelt. Sind die tausenden Menschen, die von der türkischen Kontraguerilla Hizbollah ermordet worden sind, ebenfalls vergessen? Die “Partei Gottes” wurde unter der Regie des späteren Innenministers Abdülkadir Aksu, Gründungsmitglied der “Adalet ve Kalkınma Partisi“, rekrutiert und instruiert, unter anderem zeichnet sie sich für die Morde an Musa Anter und Uğur Mumcu verantwortlich.“

4.) Why I am Glad I did not Demonstrate with Hamas Yesterday auf Tendance Coatesy dokumentiert ein Bild von einer Demo am letzten Wochenende, welches die ekelhafte (und antisemitische) Gleichsetzung von Nazi-Deutschland und Israel in Teilen der Palästina-Solibewegung verdeutlicht.

LibCom, eine libertär-kommunistische Nachrichten- und Diskussionsseite aus Britannien hat eigentlich immer Interessantes zu bieten, so auch heute:

1.) Denial networks: on crisis and continuity in the 9/11 truth movement, ein Artikel über diejenigen Vollpfosten, welche davon ausgehen, das die Anschläge am 11. September 2001 vom Mossad oder den USA begangen wurden:

„What we will find is that quite remarkably, the “truth” movement’s embrace of its own contradictions is the only thing that can keep it in motion given that its very modus operandi provokes a deep internal crisis. This crisis is not for lack of interest. Truthers are correct in claiming an embrace of 9/11 conspiracy theory on a significant scale, for instance a September 2008 WorldPublicOpinion poll across several countries found that “on average, 46 percent of those surveyed said al Qaeda was responsible (for the September 11th attacks), 15 percent said the U.S. government, 7 percent said Israel and 7 percent said some other perpetrator. One in four people said they did not know who was behind the attacks.” These numbers are certainly a testament to the vacuum of knowledge that the lying American government has made inevitable in the past seven years. Still, the so-called “truth movement” itself is suffering from a dearth of attention despite the wide-scale denial that the 19 hijackers affiliated with Al Qaeda were responsible for the attack. Recent revisionist history projects such as “the Shell Game”, a novel expounding 9/11 conspiracy theory, and Loose Change: Final Cut, whose creators promised a major theatrical release, have failed quite notoriously to penetrate the mainstream in the ways they had promised. Truther conferences and meet-ups are sparsely attended, flagship web pages see their traffic falling precipitously, and this summer when truth movement superstar Alex Jones took his bullhorn down to a Barack Obama rally at the DNC, he was roundly mocked and physically confronted by the audience before having his bullhorn cord cut.

The contradiction, that the conspirational explanations for 9/11 enjoy a certain popularity on the level of popular consciousness, but that the core propagandists who have helped shift responsibility from the Islamists are more and more ignored is intrinsic to “truth creation”, the productive core of the truth movement, which constructs its interpretation of reality and its relation to others. Despite some vain posturing, this paranoid reality tends to fulfill its own prophecy: that the state of affairs could never be changed.“

2.) Conditions of the working classes in China von Richard Weill:

„The worsening conditions of the working classes are pushing them rapidly in a more radical and militant direction. Within the ranks not only of the workers and peasants, but among many intellectuals and at least some of the broader new middle class as well, there is a deep and growing understanding that global capitalism has no answer to their situations, and that the revolutionary socialism that they built under Mao offers at least the outline of another way forward today. In the factories and on the farms, workers and peasants in China not only are resisting the new forms of capitalist exploitation, but have memories of another world that they already know is possible. From their lives during the socialist era before the reforms, they are aware that viable alternatives exist to the uncontrolled rampage of global capitalism.

Despite this legacy, any simplistic return to the past is neither possible nor desirable. Too much has been changed, and too many genies have been let out of the bottle to simply put them back again. The failures and mistakes of the past, as well as the successes and victories, will have to be reexamined, and new ways will have to be found to overcome the limitations of the first era of socialism, in China, as elsewhere. No easy prediction is possible as to what direction the struggle will take in the coming period. But as they move forward, the Chinese working classes may also look backward as they find their own path again to a new socialist society, one that combines their historical and current struggles with the global movements of today, and that brings about a revolutionary transformation once more.“

Tommy Sheridan im Big-Brother-Container

Ein weiterer (sogar linker) Politiker scheint dabei zu sein, seine politische Reputation durch den Auftritt in einer Reality-Show im Fernsehen zu zerstören und sich vor einem Millionenpublikum zum Affen zu machen. Anders als bei vielen seiner VorgängerInnen (Guido Westerwelle, Pauline Hanson, George Galloway, Heide Simonis oder Robert Kilroy-Silk) handelt es sich bei Tommy Sheridan allerdings leider um eine Persönlichkeit, welche als lokaler Basisaktivist in Glasgow, als (mit staatlicher Repression belegter) Vorkämpfer gegen die Poll Tax in Britannien um 1990 und dann später als Abgeordneter der Scottish Socialist Party (SSP) bis zu deren prinzipienloser Spaltung 2006 einen hervorragenden Ruf genoss und als Hoffnungsträger der radikalen Linken nicht nur in Schottland galt. Nun hat sich Sheridan, dessen politische Karriere vorbei zu sein scheint, entschieden, an der Seite von B- und C-Prominenten wie Ulrika Jonsson und abgehalfterten MusikerInnen wie Coolio und La Toya Jackson an der 2009-Ausgabe von Celebrity Big Brother teilzunehmen, was unwillkürlich die Frage aufkommen lässt, was danach kommt: Joachim Bischoff im (keynesianischen) Dschungelcamp beim Verzehr von Heuschrecken? John Rees und Lindsey German in Celebrity Love Island? Jürgen Elsässer in Der Bachelor oder Herzblatt? Let my heart beat, Mr. Ejehie*

I’ve been in prison for many months; a prison that was supposed to take away and destroy my determination, my love and my humanness. A prison that was expected to pacify and tame me, like “a docile lamb”; for months I have been in a prison with tall walls, as high as the history. Tall walls that were supposed to separate me from the people that I love; a permanent space between me and my homeland’s children; however, I look through my cells’ window everyday and see myself amongst them and similar to them, and they see their pains in me as prisoner; thus the prison connected us even deeper than before. It was expected that the darkness of the prison take the meaning and importance of brightness and light away, but in prison I witnessed the growing of violet in the dark.

It was expected that I would forget the sense of time and its value; but I’ve been living outside the prison in each moment and have been born again to choose a new path.

And, similar to the prisoners before me, I’ve also endured the insults, abuses and degradations hoping that may be I would be the last one having to suffer from the darkness of the prison. But, one day, they called me a combatant, suggesting that I had gone to a war with their “god” hence they weaved their rope of justice to end my life at a dawn. I have been awaiting unwantedly the execution of my death order since then. However, now that they want to take my life away from me, because of my love for humankind, I have decided to donate my body parts to patients who might benefit from it after I’ve died. I would also like to give my heart, which is full of love and affection to a child. It doesn’t matter where this child comes from, whether from the shore of Karoon River or from the foothills of Sabalan Mountain or the desert in the east or from Zagros Mountains. The main thing is that my restless and rebellious heart should beat in a child’s chest who more rebelliously than me shares his childhood wishes with the moon and stars at nights and take them as witnesses to ensure that s/he would not betray his/her childhood dreams in adulthood. I wish my heart beat in someone’s chest who is restless for children that sleep hungry at nights; and someone that commemorate the memory of “Haamed” the sixteen year old student form my city that wrote, “ even my smallest dreams in this life cannot be achieved” and then hanged himself.

Let my heart beat in someone’s chest, and it’s not important what language s/he speaks or what’s his/her color of skin; only if s/he is a working person’s child whose father’s calluses on the hand would spark my heart with outrage against inequalities. My heart to beat in someone’s chest who in future would become a teacher in a remote village. And his/her students would welcome him/her every morning with beautiful smiles and they would share their happiness and games with him/her. May be then these children would not experience the taste of poverty and hunger and in their worlds there would not be no meanings for “prison, torture, oppression and inequality”.

Allow my heart to beat in any part of this wide world; only be mindful that it would become someone’s heart that has a lot to say about their people and homeland; people who had a history of suffering, pain and sorrow.

Let my heart beat in a child’s chest, so on a sunrise I can scream in my mother’s tongue: I would like to be a breeze and spread the “message of love to human beings” to the whole broad earth.

50 Jahre kubanische Revolution

La revolución cubana realizará todas las reformas dentro del espíritu y las pragmáticas de nuestra Constitución avanzada de 1940 sin despojar a nadie de lo que legítimamente posee e indemnizando a cada uno de los intereses lesionados, con la plena conciencia de que a la larga toda la sociedad saldrá beneficiada.

La Revolución Cubana castigará con mano firme todos los actos de violencia contra la persona humana que se están cometiendo bajo la tiranía, pero repudiará y reprimirá toda manifestación de venganza innoble inspirada en el odio o las bajas pasiones.

La Revolución Cubana no hace compromiso con grupos o personas de ninguna clase, ni a nadie ofrece empleos públicos civiles o cargos dentro de las Fuerzas Armadas; respetará la capacidad y el mérito donde quiera que se encuentre y no considerará jamás el Estado como botín de un grupo victorioso.
