Solidarität mit ArbeiteraktivistInnen in Südkorea

Dringender Appell:8 ArbeiteraktivistInnen aus Südkorea sind von 5 bis 7 Jahren Knast bedroht

Am 3. Dezember 2010 hat die Staatsanwaltschaft in Seoul Haftstrafen zwischen 5 und 7 Jahren für Oh Sei-chull und weitere Mitglieder (Yang Hyo-seok, Yang Joon-seok, Choi Young-ik, Park Joon-seon, Jeong Won-hyung und Oh Min-gyu) der revolutionär-sozialistischen Gruppe Socialist Workers‘ Alliance of Korea (SWLK) gefordert. Diese AktivistInnen der koreanischen Arbeiterbewegung sind nach Südkoreas berüchtigtem Gesetz für Nationale Sicherheit angeklagt (das Gesetz wurde 1948 eingeführt und sieht theoretisch immer noch die Todesstrafe für „pro-nördliche“ Aktivitäten vor). Den acht Militanten aus der SWLK, die sich als InternationalistInnen für eine Arbeiterrevolution in beiden koreanischen Staaten einsetzen, wird außer der Tatsache, dass sie SozialistInnen sind, kein spezielles Verbrechen vorgeworfen. Tatsächlich aber richtet sich die Anklage gegen ihre Interventionen in mehreren Streiks und Bewegungen seit 2007. Dies ist seit vielen Jahren der erste Fall einer derartig krassen Repression nach dem Gesetz für Nationale Sicherheit. Der Fall muss im Zusammenhang mit der scharfen Rechtswende (wie der Zerschlagung des Streiks bei Ssangyong Motor Co. 2009) der südkoreanischen Regierung seit dem Amtsantritt von Präsident Lee Myong Bak 2008 gesehen werden. (Tatsächlich dienten während des Ssangyong-Streiks verteilte SWLK-Flugblätter im Prozess als wichtige Beweisstücke.)

Die Staatsanwälte haben seit 2008 schon mehrmals versucht, Mitglieder der SWLK vor Gericht zu stellen. Bis zum letzten Dezember lehnten die Gerichte die Eröffnung des Hauptverfahrens immer wieder ab. Es ist durchaus möglich, dass eine Flut von Protest-Mails an Richter Hyung Doo Kim vom zentralen Bezirksgericht Seoul (Seoul Central District Court) dazu beiträgt, dass bei der Urteilsverkündung am 27. Januar niedrigere oder gar keine Strafen verhängt werden.

Zur derzeitigen Krise auf der koreanischen Halbinsel

Folgende Einschätzung von der Webseite Frontlines of Revolutionary Struggle scheint (unabhängig von der Frage, wer zuerst geschossen hat) Hand und Fuss zu haben, wenn wer Statements aus der Linken in Südkorea hat, bitte melden und als Kommentar verlinken!

Based on our present knowledge, the latest armed clash between North and South Korea is based on this sequence of events: Large numbers of South Korean forces were conducting military exercises near the border with North Korea; North Korea warned South Korea to call off its military maneuvers; and then an exchange of artillery fire took place. Just the same, the US and Western imperialist press immediately charged that this was an “unprovoked attack” by North Korea. Obama immediately ordered the George Washington aircraft carrier to sail to South Korea to conduct “joint exercises” in a show of solidarity with the South Korean government. As the article posted below points out, the dispatch of this aircraft carrier to the North China Sea is also meant to send a message to the Chinese imperialists to place more pressure on North Korea to back off militarily. The US imperialists are well aware that China is the only country with any leverage over North Korea, since it supplies most of North Korea’s energy and food. China does this not out of “socialist solidarity” (neither of them are socialist), but to keep North Korea from collapsing, generating a flood of refugees into China. Even more importantly, a disintegrating North Korea could lead to a unified Korea, with a US military presence on China’s border.

The South Korean government claimed that it was the victim of North Korean “aggression,” and threatened to launch air strikes on North Korean artillery bases. It also received assistance from the bourgeois media in ensuring that its responsibility for the armed clash would not be subject to public scrutiny. This response points to the “carrot and stick” approach of the South Korean government and the US imperialists to the North Korean government. The “stick” has consisted of tight economic sanctions and constant military pressure (including initiating some of these armed clashes) that forces the North Korean government to match South Korean military spending. The “carrot” is the offer of substantial economic aid and investments (in export processing zones) if North Korea agrees to discontinue its nuclear weapons program.

There are two reasons underlying North Korea’s policy of engaging South Korean forces in “lightning” military actions (see the history of armed actions from 1999 to the present below): First, these continual armed clashes maintain political legitimacy and stability for a weak North Korean regime by raising the level of nationalism and reinforcing the official line that North Korea is under perpetual siege from the US and South Korea. Second, the hereditary “communist” dynasty that has ruled North Korea for decades is in a desperate economic situation, and is having great difficulty maintaining its huge military forces. To handle this situation, the North Korean government has been expanding its nuclear weapons program and engaging the South Korean military in small actions as bargaining chips for extracting the largest amount of economic aid as possible from South Korea and the US. This is a high-stakes gamble. The recent actions of the North Korean government will more likely lead to tighter Western sanctions and increased US pressure on China to force North Korea to back off from its military/nuclear ambitions–and come to terms with South Korea and US imperialism.-

1.) In der Bibliothek der Technischen Universität Darmstadt findet, wie der hpd berichtet, derzeit die Ausstellung “Das Buch Mormon – Eine Quelle zur Erforschung prä-kolumbianischer Kulturen in Meso-Amerika” statt:

“Der Aufbau der Ausstellung versucht die Aussage der Eingangstafel zu stützen: Die Mehrzahl der archäologischen Quellen sind zusammen mit Zitaten aus dem Buch Mormon dargestellt, deren Aussagen sich scheinbar mit den Funden decken. Der unvoreingenommene Besucher erkennt die historischen Fakten an und soll so auf die Richtigkeit der Entstehungsgeschichte des Buchs Mormon schließen. Das wäre ungefährlicher, wenn es sich beim Buch Mormon zumindest im Ansatz um ein historisches Dokument über präkolumbische Kulturen handelte. Leider ist das Gegenteil der Fall.

Die angebliche Entstehungsgeschichte des Buches enthüllt, dass es als historische Quelle mehr als ungeeignet ist: Der Autor und Prophet Joseph Smith sei 1827 vom Engel Moroni zu einem Berg geführt worden, in dem sich Metallplatten mit Schriftzeichen sowie zwei Zaubersteine befunden hätten. Die Platten seien ca. 1600 Jahre zuvor durch Nachkommen 600 v. Chr. nach Amerika ausgewanderter Israeliten in diesem Berg versteckt worden. Die Steine sollen Smith befähigt haben, die Schriftzeichen auf magische Weise ins Englische zu übersetzen. Die Tafeln sollen danach an den Engel zurückgegeben worden sein.

Selbst wenn die Platten existiert haben sollten, kann man angesichts der Übersetzungsmethode sagen, dass der Sinngehalt des Originaldokumentes verloren gegangen sein muss. Die Bezeichnung des Buches Mormon als Quelle für präkolumbische Kulturen verbietet sich.

Kritische Aussagen zum Inhalt oder zur Entstehungsgeschichte des Buches sucht man in der Ausstellung vergeblich. Das einzige Zugeständnis an die Natur des Textes als religiöse Schrift sind hier und da ein “soll… sein”, und der Satz “Die Entstehungsgeschichte des Buches Mormon ist umstritten.” Auf den Prozess der “Übersetzung” wird nicht eingegangen, ebensowenig auf zahlreiche Diskrepanzen zwischen archäologischen Funden und dem Text des Buches.”

Gerüchte, wonach die TU Darmstadt Erich von Däniken einen Lehrstuhl für Vor- und Frühgeschichte anbot oder in Zukunft das geozentrische Weltbild lehren wird, sind hingegen vermutlich unwar.

2.) Regentied berichtet von einer Provinzposse aus Oldenburg:

“Der mor­gi­ge Vor­trag der Jour­na­lis­tin An­drea Röbke über die Rolle von Frau­en in der Na­zi­sze­ne [Mitt­woch, 2.​12., 20 Uhr, Flyer] ist auf Ge­heiß der Stadt­ver­wal­tung erst ab­ge­sagt, dann schließ­lich aber nur ver­legt wor­den – und zwar vom Stadt­mu­se­um in das PFL. Der an­geb­li­che Grund: »Si­cher­heits­vor­keh­run­gen sind dort ein­fa­cher um­zu­set­zen als im Mu­se­um«, so Stadt­spre­che­rin Swant­je Engel. Vor­aus­ge­gan­gen war ein Auf­ruf der Ol­den­bur­ger NPD und einem Häuf­chen vir­tu­el­ler Nazis, diese Ver­an­stal­tung zu stö­ren [Info].”

3.) Die Daily Mail berichtet neues von “Bischof” Michael Reid (gegen den zusätzlich auch noch unter dem Verdacht der Vergewaltigung ermittelt wird):
