1.) Ein Artikel aus der aktuellen Graswurzelrevolution zur undogmatischen Linken in Jordanien:
„Die Social Left ist eine Organisation, in der sich verschiedene dissidente Kräfte Jordaniens zusammengeschlossen haben. Das Spektrum reicht von MarxistInnen (die aus der offiziellen Kommunistischen Partei ausgetreten sind) über KünstlerInnen, MusikerInnen, Intellektuelle, GewerkschafterInnen (die den staatsnahen Gewerkschaften den Rücken gekehrt haben, um neue Basisgewerkschaften ins Leben zu rufen), StudentInnen, kritische JournalistInnen bis hin zu AnarchistInnen.
Im Dezember 2007 wurden die ersten Treffen – u.a. vom Jordan Social Forum – organisiert, um Pläne, eine neue, größere Organisation ins Leben zu rufen, zu diskutieren. Im März 2008 wurde die Social Left gegründet. Ideologisch gibt es keine strikte Ausrichtung. Sie ist links und pluralistisch, so dass marxistische AktivistInnen ebenso Platz finden wie AnarchistInnen und Menschen, die sich keiner politischen Fraktion verbunden fühlen, sondern lediglich das Bedürfnis haben, etwas zu verändern. Die Social Left fühlt sich den globalen, emanzipatorischen Bewegungen gegen eine neoliberale Globalisierung verbunden. Themen, die behandelt werden, sind die verbreitete Korruption der politischen Elite und die Repression, die von dem herrschenden Regime ausgeht, der Widerstand gegen neoliberale Reformen des Staates, die auch in Jordanien vor allem die ärmeren Schichten am härtesten treffen, sowie die kriegerischen Auseinandersetzungen in der Region.“
