Helmut Kohl verliert einen Freund

Vor einigen Tagen starb der langjährige indonesische Militärmachthaber Suharto, welcher von Altbundeskanzler Kohl als „Freund“ bezeichnet wurde … und gegenüber FreundInnen ist mensch zuweilen, besonders wenn sie auch noch gute HandelspartnerInnen und WaffenkäuferInnen sind, ein wenig nachsichtig und lässt sich die Freundschaft nicht von Amnesty International und anderen NestbeschmutzerInnen (wie dem stinkbürgerlichen St Galler Tagblatt, welches in seinem Nachruf Suharto als einen der „… schlimmsten Ex-Diktatoren der Geschichte … “ bezeichnete) mies reden. Da stört es dann auch nicht, dass der Weg Suhartos an die Staatsspitze 1965-1966 mit den Leichen von 500.000 bis 1.000.000 Menschen – KommunistInnen und solche die das Pech hatten, für solche gehalten werden, Angehörigen der chinesischen Minderheit in Indonesien, Menschen welche bei lokalen „Abrechnungen“ ermordet wurden, etc. – gepflastert war. Auch wurde die Freundschaft nicht durch die Besetzung Osttimors beeinträchtigt, der zwischen 1975 und 1999 zwischen 100.000 und 200.000 OsttimoresInnen zum Opfer fielen, von den 100.000 Toten in Westpapua und Zehntausenden Getöteten in Aceh ganz zu schweigen, da Kohl und Konsorten deutsche Waffen an Indonesien profitabel verkaufen konnten. Freundschaft ist halt stärker. Und wie sagte in den 1930er Jahren schon Franklin D. Roosevelt über Anastasio Somoza: „Somoza may be a son of a bitch, but he’s our son of a bitch.“
