„The dock workers of Chittagong port on Sunday started their two-hour-long sit-in programme in front of Bandar Bhaban, the office of Chittagong Port Authority (CPA), demanding implementation of the decisions made regarding their earlier demands.

The Dock Bandar Sramik Karmachari Federation, a platform of the dock workers, started the programme around 10:30am as part of their 10-day-long agitation programme to press home their demands, President of the federation Golam Mohammad told The Daily Star.

They demanded reinstatement of the dockworkers fired during the caretaker government’s tenure in the name of reformation, employing of labourers by rotation through a booking centre under Chittagong Port Authority (CPA), reintroduction of labour department, opening of the closed residential buildings and issuing identity cards to avoid hassels while entering the port, our Chittagong correspondent reports.“

„This afternoon, after 17 days of strike by over 20,000 power looms workers in the Jhang district, the bosses agreed to meet the demands. The district coordination officer (DCO) announced at the textile workers’ strike camp that all workers would be issued social security cards. At a meeting the director of social security, the district administration and employers jointly agreed. This will be first time that industrial workers in the Jhang district will be able to receive the benefits of social security, including free health service, special marriage and death grants and free education for their children at social security schools.“

* Qom Operators Shut Information Lines for a Second Day (iran labor report)

„On July 25, the information telephone operators in the holy cit of Qom shut the lines from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. and stopped work protesting for a second consecutive day.

According to Iran Labour News Agency (ILNA), one of the workers wishing to remain anonymous said that: “since July 23, a new contractor has signed a new contract with the Qom authorities declaring that they will run the information operator service with 35 employees and the officials have agreed to the terms as well.” According to the said worker, half of the operators who all have more than ten years of service with these telephone services are to be laid off. With the last two days protests, they are now saying that 50 of the 70 employees shall be kept instead of the original 35.“

„Dans tout le département, les pompiers professionnels sont en grève illimitée depuis vendredi matin, à l’appel de la CGT. Les pompiers dénoncent des mesures d’économies prises au niveau départemental qui se traduisent par un retard dans l’avancement des catégories C.

La CGT évoque aussi des cas de souffrance, tant chez les pompiers que dans le personnel administratif, et demande une écoute par un médecin du travail extérieur au SDIS (Service départemental d’incendie et de secours). Par ailleurs, les pompier de Concarneau, ont une une revendication spécifique concernant la vétusté de leurs locaux. Située dans une ancienne usine de boîtes de conserve de l’avenue de la Gare, l’actuelle caserne n’est plus adaptée.“

Arbeiter und Soldat (1943-1944)

Die GenossInnen von Workers‘ Liberty haben dankenswerterweise unter dem Titel Trotskyism in occupied France The Trotskyist paper Arbeiter und Soldat 1943-44 (pdf-Datei, 438,6 kb, mit einem Vorwort von David Broder, der übrigens auch einen lesenswerten Blog betreibt) eine Beilage zu ihrer Zeitung veröffentlicht, in welcher sie in englischen Übersetzung Texte aus den unter den Titeln Arbeiter und Soldat sowie Zeitung für Arbeiter und Soldat im Westen von deutschen und französischen TrotzkistInnen um u.a. Paul Widelin 1943-1944 in der Bretagne im Widerstand gegen den Nationalsozialismus produzierten Untergrundzeitungen wieder zugänglich macht. Die Widerstandsorganisation selber flog zwischen Oktober 1943 und Sommer 1944 auf, was zur Ermordung von Dutzenden ihrer Mitglieder und SympathisantInnen durch Gestapo und SS und zur Inhaftierung und Deportation weiterer WiderstandskämpferInnen in deutsche Konzentrationslager führte. In diesem Zusammenhang stellt sich die Frage, warum von den Texten aus Arbeiter und Soldat, welche in ihrem Ziel, „wehrkraftzersetzende Propaganda“ unter Wehrmachtssoldaten und deutschen Seeleuten zu betreiben, durchaus einige bescheidene Erfolge erzielt hatten, keine deutschsprachige Edition erhältlich ist.

Verwiesen sei in diesem Zusammenhang auf den lesenswerten autobiographischen Bericht von André Calvès Sans bottes ni médailles: un Trotskyste Breton dans la guerre (Editions La Brèche, 1984) und die von den GenossInnen des ASMSFQI online gestellte Ausgabe der Untergrundzeitung La Bretagne Rouge vom September 1941.

Neues bei ASMSFQI

Die GenossInnen der Association pour la sauvegarde de la mémoire de la section française de la IVe internationale (ASMSFQI, Geschichtsarbeitskreis der LCR), haben einige weitere Dokumente aus der Geschichte der französischen trotzkistischen Bewegung online gestellt, welche als pdf-Files herunter geladen werden können:

Rote Bretagne

Während der deutschen Besetzung 1940-1944/45 gab es in der Résistance in der Bretagne auch trotzkistische Widerstandsgruppen, deren Kampf beispielsweise André Calves in seinem lesenswerten autobiographischen Bericht Sans bottes ni médailles. Un trotskyste breton dans la guerre darstellt. Die GenossInnen der ASMSFQI haben nun dankenswerterweise die Ausgabe der Untergrundzeitung La Bretagne Rouge vom September 1941 eingescant und online gestellt.
